Club President and Girls Program Director

Bryan is the Head Varsity Women's Basketball Coach at Granite Bay High School. He is in his 4th year coaching the Grizzlies and previously coached basketball at Granite Bay's Cavitt Junior High School and various club basketball teams in Granite Bay.

Bryan has a passion for youth basketball and is a firm believer in the positive life impacts that come from playing competitive team sports at the high school level. He uses a fundamentals based approach to coaching which provides each of his athletes the necessary building blocks to have success at the next level.

Boys Program Director and 4th Boys Coach

Chris is the new head boys coach at Granite Bay High School!

He joins as from Valley Christian where he served as the Director of Basketball for the K-12 Valley Christian School System in San Jose, CA since 2013. He taught Exercise Science, Health and Human Performance. He also coached the varsity girls’ basketball team and is the all-time ’Winningest Coach’ in Valley Christian history, securing two CCS championships and 12 CIF State NorCal appearances.

Boys 8th Grade Coach

Julia “Julz” Allender is the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at GBHS. and played Division I basketball and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching from Southern Utah University.  She also received her Master's degree in Human Movement from A.T. Still University.  

 Julz was a successful women's basketball college coach for 13 years. In her tenure as a head coach, she created a culture of success both on and off the court. In just a short time she took two collegiate programs and turned them into high-powered programs where they were constantly in the discussion as one of the top women's basketball programs across the state of California. Julz had a winning percentage of over 70%, won 3 conference championships, 3 coach of the year honors, had 9 state playoff births and finished ranked in the top 10 in the state 3 years.

We are incredibly lucky to have Julz join the Granite Bay basketball family!

Girls 7th/8th Grade Coach

Paul is the Head Freshman Women’s Basketball coach at Granite Bay High School. Prior to joining The Bay, Paul coached at Olympus Junior High School as well as youth basketball for the past 6 years.

His passion for the game leaves an imprint on his players as he prepares them for playing basketball at Granite Bay High School.

Girls 6th Head Coach

Frances is the JV Women’s Basketball coach at Granite Bay High School. Frances was most recently the Freshman Assistant Coach and 8th grade coach at Cavitt Junior High and has been coaching youth and high school girl's basketball for 20+ years. She previously coached at Armijo High School in Fairfield and launched and coached the Granite Bay Pumas Girl's Basketball Club. Her deep knowledge of the game as both a player and coach is invaluable to The Bay's mission of bringing quality coaching to the girls of Granite Bay.

Frances believes in establishing the foundational skills of basketball. An emphasis in fundamentals is a central tenet of her philosophy in addition to promoting teamwork, building a strong work ethic and self confidence.

Girls 5th Grade Coach

Jamie played Division 1 basketball at Santa Clara University and professionally overseas. He now spends his free time helping foster a love for the game for the youth girls of Granite Bay. We are extremely lucky to have Jamie leading our younger group and teaching them the fundamentals of the game.
