2026 Winter Session for Kinder - 6th Grade Girls

NOTE: If you are a Kinder girl parent and have basketball experience, we are in need of coaches. We can expand our programs for Kinder if we have more coaches. Please contact Bryan Powell if interested - 916-521-4687 or bryanpowell.re@gmail.com.

NOTE: 7th & 8th grade will start after their junior high season ends in early March.

Granite Bay High School Youth Clinics

• Format: Granite Bay High School Basketball offers youth clinics on the first 4 Saturdays in January to kids aged Kinder - 6th grade. This is not a The Bay program, but The Bay is a partner with Granite Bay HS so we would love all players to attend these clinics! The Bay’s programs will not conflict with the GBHS Clinics.

• Dates: Jan 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

• Clinic Times:

  • Kinder-2nd Grade: 8:45-10:15am

  • 3rd-6th Grade: 10:30am-12:00pm

• Cost: $130 - The cost includes a GBHS t-shirt for the younger group and a jersey for the older group.

1st Grade

• Format: One session per week on Saturdays for 90min. Players will work on skill development and play games in a fun environment!

• Dates: January 31 - March 21

• Practice/Games: Saturdays 10:45-12:15pm

• Head Coach: Lauren Corral

• Cost: $120 - The cost includes a reversible jersey for those that need one (they are the same as last year).

• Registration

2nd/3rd Grade

• Format: One session per week on Fridays for 90min. The session will provide fun and up-tempo skill development and game-play designed to get the girls excited about playing basketball.

• Dates: January 12 - March 27

• Practice/Games: Fridays 4:15-5:45pm

• Head Coach: Brent McHone

• Cost: $120 - The cost includes a reversible jersey for those that need one (they are the same as last year).

• Registration

4th Grade

• Format: All players will participate in one practice per week and participate in games on some weekends. A Competitive Team will be formed and practice one additional day per week. The exact format of weekend games for all girls will be determined once we see how many girls register to play. We may offer intrasquad scrimmages some weekends and outside games for the Competitive Team other weekends.

• Dates: January 12 - March 27

• Practices: Tuesdays 6:00-7:30pm for all players. Thursdays 4:15-5:45pm for the Competitive Team.

• Games: Weekend game schedule will be determined once we know how many girls are registered.

• Head Coach: Jamie Holmes

• Cost: $130 - The cost includes practice and a practice jersey for those that need one. An additional cost of $110 for the Tournament Team will be due when the team is selected. Game uniforms are $100 for those that don’t have one (They are the same as last year). Tournaments will cost $25 each and will be paid the week of the tournament.

• Registration

5th/6th Grade

• Format: Two practices per week with tournament games on approximately 2 weekends per month. The top 10 players in current skill will be invited to play in weekend games. Our goal is to continue developing all players in practice while providing competitive opportunities for the players ready to take that step. Depending on how many players register and their skill level, we may create two teams.

• Dates: January 12 - March 27

• Practices: Mondays & Wednesdays 5:45-7:15pm

• Games: Weekend games on approximately 2 weekends per month for the Tournament Team.

• Head Coach: Arren Setness

• Cost: $230 - The cost includes practice and a practice jersey for those that need one. Game uniforms are $100 for those that don’t have one (They are the same as last year). Tournaments will cost $20-$25 each and will be paid the week of the tournament.

7th/8th Grade

• Format: More details to come. This session will begin immediately after the Cavitt/Olympus season ends.

• Dates: March 9 - May 22

• Practices: TBD

-COACHES NEEDED! - We are in need of parents to volunteer to be coaches. Prior playing or coaching experience is needed to be a head coach. No coaching experience required to be an assistant! Please contact Bryan Powell (bryanpowell.re@gmail.com) if interested.
